HillHouse Writers Retreat was founded in May of 2004. We prided ourselves on preparing the best meals using the freshest ingredients. Wherever it was possible, we used locally grown or raised meats, fruits and vegetables. The retreat is currently closed except as a reward for the KickStarter grant to publish Ron Heacock’s novel Happily After Ever.

If our grant is funded, the reward recipient(s) will receive a one week (7 days) paid stay at the retreat on the beautiful HillHouse Farm in Pulaski, Tennessee.

The HillHouse Process

In order to receive the highest level of care at HillHouse, each attendee fills out a food survey. This survey will be emailed. We can accommodate any food sensitivities or preferences within reason. Reward recipients provide their own travel to and from Nashville. We traditionally pick our residents up at the airport. The grant is for you and one guest, there is only one bed in the blue room.

Alcohol is not included in the award. But we encourage you to bring your own, or we can stop at a store in route to the farm.

Stays can begin and end on any day of the week. Normally folks arrive in the evening on Friday and leave in the morning on the following Friday.
